How to Merge a Spreadsheet | LabelForge PRO

Connect your custom spreadsheet and CSV data to LabelForge PRO to efficiently print labels according to your needs.

In this video, we'll guide you through the step-by-step process of merging data sources in LabelForge PRO Label Designer, ensuring you create efficient and accurate labels for all your needs. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced user, this tutorial is designed to help you master Data Source Merge and enhance your labeling projects when using our line of DuraLabel Sign and Label Systems.

 

1. Access Data Source Tab in LabelForge PRO 0:18

  • Open Label Designer.

  • Click on the third icon from the bottom to access the Data Source tab.

2. Connect Your Spreadsheet 0:28

  • Click on 'Open Data Source connector' to connect your spreadsheet.

  • Click the orange plus sign on the top left.

  • From the dropdown, select 'DSN'.

  • Click 'Choose File' to locate your spreadsheet.

  • After selecting your file, click 'Next'.

4. Configure Column Headers 0:48

  • If your spreadsheet has headers, toggle the option for 'first row contains column headers'.

  • Click 'Done' to finalize the import.

5. Drag and Drop Data 1:07

  • You will see new listings on the left side.

  • Drag and drop the appropriate information into the text boxes on your label.

6. Preview Labels 1:20

  • Check the right side under navigation for the number of records.

  • Use the arrows to preview each label before printing.

7. Zoom and Adjust View 1:33

  • If labels are close together, zoom in using the middle mouse wheel.

  • Drag with the left mouse button to adjust your view.

8. Apply Information 1:55

  • Click '+' to add an existing database if needed.

  • Drag any necessary information onto your label.

9. Print Labels 2:23

  • Click on the printer option at the bottom.

  • Choose to print:

    • 'Current Record' for the label on screen.

    • 'All Records' for all labels in the spreadsheet.

    • 'Range' or 'List of Records' for specific labels.

10. Specify Labels to Print 2:41

  • For a range, use a dash (e.g., labels 1-4).

  • For individual labels, separate with commas (e.g., label 2, label 13).

Cautionary Notes

  • Ensure your spreadsheet is formatted correctly before importing.

  • Double-check that the correct columns are mapped to the text boxes to avoid errors in printing.

Tips for Efficiency

  • Use the zoom feature to clearly see and adjust text boxes when working with closely placed labels.
