Kodiak: Error 15

Error 15 indicates the lid isn’t closed in the Kodiak.

DuraLabel printers calibrate ribbon and supply upon lid closure to reduce wrinkles and ensure optimal print quality. If the lid switch doesn’t detect that the lid is closed the printer won’t be able to print.

Troubleshooting:

  1. Power cycle the printer to ensure it is not stuck in error status.
  2. Open the lid, remove and reseat the ribbon and then close the lid.
  3. Press firmly on the lid to determine if there is a weak switch connection.
  4. Ensure the ribbons are latched.
  5. Open the Kodiak lid and depress the lid switch to determine if the switch is actuating.
    1. If switch responds, ribbons should calibrate and tighten.
    2. If not, the lid switch may be defective.
  6. Confirm that the printer is exhibiting Error 15 and not Code 15.
    • Kodiak can provide a “Code 15: No Valid Supply Loaded” error if it can’t confirm the part numbers in the supply. See Error 10 or Error 22 for resolution.
  7. If error continues, contact Tech Support or your Account Manager for further instructions.
