In this video, we walk through how to migrate legacy DuraSuite and LabelForge label files into LabelForge PRO. You’ll see how to create and save labels in older software, then import them into LabelForge PRO, DuraLabel's current Free Sign and Label design software.

1. Prepare a sample file in DuraSuite 0:33

Open DuraSuite and go to Label Designer.

Use a 6x4 template for consistency.

Use the zoom tool if needed to better view the workspace.
-
Select the Text tool from the design toolbox.

Place the text object in the center of the label.
2. Enter and save the DuraSuite file 0:55
-
Right-click the text object and choose Set Text.
-
Enter sample content such as Test Text.
-
Go to File > Save As.
-
Save the file in Downloads with a clear name, such as Test Text DuraSuite.

Close DuraSuite after saving.
3. Create and save a matching legacy LabelForge file 1:37
-
Open the legacy LabelForge program.
-
Maximize the window for easier navigation.
-
Open Settings and keep the label size set to 6x4.
-
Select Add Text and enter the same sample text, such as Test Text.
-
Save the file to Downloads with a clear name, such as Test Text LabelForge.
-
Exit the legacy LabelForge program after saving.
4. Open LabelForge PRO and start a new label 2:38

Launch LabelForge PRO.
-
Review the new home screen layout, which includes recent files, favorites, and local desktop/network files.

Go to Label Designer.
-
Select the 6x4 label size.
-
Click Create New Label to begin the import process.
5. Import the DuraSuite file into LabelForge PRO 2:52

Open the three-line hamburger menu in Label Designer.
-
Select the LF / LabelForge import option.
-
Locate the saved DuraSuite file in the Downloads folder.

Open the file and confirm it loads into LabelForge PRO.
-
Click Save to convert and store it in the new LabelForge PRO format.

If needed, use Save As to place the file in a network folder or another desktop location.
6. Verify the converted DuraSuite file 3:34

Open File Explorer and navigate to Downloads.

Confirm the DuraSuite file now appears as a LabelForge PRO profile.

Verify the file saved successfully before moving on.
7. Import the legacy LabelForge file into LabelForge PRO 3:56

Return to the LabelForge PRO home screen.

Open Label Designer again.
-
Select Create New Label using the 6x4 size.
-
Open the hamburger menu and choose the import option.
-
Double-click the saved LabelForge file from Downloads.
-
Confirm the file opens correctly, then click Save.
8. Verify the converted LabelForge file and complete the process 4:14

Open File Explorer and go to Downloads.

Confirm the LabelForge file is now saved as a LabelForge PRO profile type.

Once both legacy files are converted, the migration is complete.

Keep the converted files in LabelForge PRO for future editing and printing.
Cautionary Notes
-
Do not skip saving the legacy files first; LabelForge PRO imports from the saved file location.
-
Confirm the correct file type before saving so the file is converted into a LabelForge PRO profile.

Double-check the Downloads folder or chosen save location to ensure the file was successfully created.

If saving to a network location, verify you have the correct permissions and access.
