Toro Max: Error 12
Error 12 indicates the printer can’t detect the gap or notch/hole in the die-cut labels.
DuraLabel printers use information programmed on the smart chip to determine the location of a gap or notch/hole on the supply in order to align with die-cut labels. If the prints/cuts are misaligned or the printer errors, the printer likely needs calibrated, the media sensor needs adjusted or the driver settings are incorrect.
Troubleshooting:
- Power cycle the printer to ensure it is not stuck in error status.
- Ensure the adjustable media sensor is aligned with the notch or gap in the supply.
- Confirm the cutter is set to labels with notches in the driver or onboard the printer.
- Calibrate:
- Open and close the lid, printer should pop up with a calibration button.
- If not, navigate to Printer Settings, Preferences, Calibrate Supply.
- Ensure that the label size in LabelForge Pro matches the label size on the supply.
- The printer will error if it doesn’t see the gap or notch within 13mm of the end of print job.
- Determine if the smart chip has the correct media/cut format and is the original end cap for that supply. End caps transferred from other supply frequently cause this error.
- If error continues, contact Tech Support or your Account Manager for further instructions.
