Toro Max: Error 24

Error 24 indicates that the Toro Max ribbon cartridge has exceeded the programmed mileage.

DuraLabel printers require ribbons with a smart chip that contains information about the material, size, color and appropriate printer settings to ensure optimal print quality and efficiency. Without access to this information, the printer cannot print. The chip is housed on the ribbon cartridge. This chip must make contact with the pins in the printer for it to read the material.

Troubleshooting:

  1. Ensure that ribbon from another cartridge or ribbon from another printer was not loaded onto the cartridge. Because the ribbon cartridges have a programmed mileage on them if the ribbon from one cartridge is removed and replaced onto another cartridge the cartridge will provide error 24 when it has reached the end of its mileage.
  2. There is a chance that there could also be a defect in the programming. Load a new or different ribbon into the printer to determine if issue is with the current ribbon or all ribbons.
  3. If the error continues contact Tech Support or your Account Manager for further instructions.
