Toro Max: Error 65
Error 65 indicates the printer is reading the smart chip in the supply as invalid.
DuraLabel printers require supplies with a smart chip that contains information about the label material, size, color and appropriate printer settings to ensure optimal print quality and efficiency. Without access to this information, the printer cannot print. The chip is housed on the end cap that has the DuraLabel label. This chip must face the antenna (pointing away from the screen side) in the printer in order for it to read the material.
Troubleshooting:
- Ensure that the roll of label stock is from DuraLabel by confirming the part number. ToroMax supply will start with T... This information can be found on the supply box or by selecting the supply icons in the top right corner on the printer screen or the printer icon in the top right corner of LabelForge Pro if printing from the PC. If the printer is showing a "!" icon over the supply icons when looking, it may not display the part number and the supply box will be needed.
- Open and close the lid of the Toro Max to test if the printer was stuck in an error status and the error 65 message is able to clear.
- Confirm the end cap with the DuraLabel label and smart chip are facing the antenna. In the Toro Max it should be facing away from the LCD screen.
- Load a different roll of label material into the printer in order to test if the machine is failing to read multiple rolls. Ideally this should be new supply so that we can confirm the part number from the box.
- If the issue only occurs with a single roll then this indicates the chip in the one roll of supply is defective and should be replaced.
- If error continues, contact Tech Support or your Account Manager for further instructions.
