Learn how to create and print your first sign using DuraLabel Kodiak Max Industrial Sign & Label Print System. This walkthrough shows how to use LabelForge PRO sign and label design software, search the Premade Signs Library, and printing a large format two-color Restricted Area No Parking sign.
1. Open LabelForge PRO and locate the premade signs library 0:21
- Launch LabelForge PRO and arrive at the home screen.
- Review the available modules on the left-hand side.
- Select Premade Signs Library to access ready-to-use compliant templates.
- Use this library when you need a fast start with a standard sign or label.
2. Search for the correct premade sign template 0:59
- In the Premade Signs Library, use the search bar to find the needed sign.
- Enter a keyword such as parking to locate the appropriate template.
- Choose the Restricted Area sign template for a “Restricted Area No Parking” sign.
- Confirm the template matches the intended message and format before opening it.
3. Confirm the label supply matches the template 1:20
- When prompted to create a new label, verify the selected supply matches the physical media you will load.
- Ensure the software setting aligns with the actual material, such as:
- Black and red premium quick load ribbon cartridges
- White premium vinyl
- Do not proceed until the software supply selection matches the installed consumables.
4. Review and customize the sign if needed 1:26
- Open the template in the editor.
- Review the text, layout, and symbols.
- Make any required changes to ensure the sign is correct for your facility.
- If no changes are needed, keep the premade template as-is and proceed to printing.
5. Send the sign to print 1:35
- Select the printer icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
- Open Print Settings.
- Confirm Kodiak Max is selected under Printer Category.
- Click Print to begin the job.
6. Verify the finished output and cutter operation 1:49
- Wait for the print job to complete.
- Confirm the automatic cutter trims the sign after printing.
- Inspect the finished sign to ensure it is ready for use.
- Verify the output matches the intended two-color, large-format sign.
Cautionary Notes
- Always confirm supply compatibility before printing to avoid wasted material or print errors.
- Verify the printer category is set to Kodiak Max before starting the job.
- Check the template carefully if you modify any text, symbols, or layout.
- Use the correct media and ribbon combination for the intended sign quality and durability.
- Do not remove the sign until the cutter has fully finished its cycle.
